Firm Overview

The Garrett Law Firm was founded by Terry L. Garrett, formerly counsel to Cadwalader, Wickersham, and Taft, the oldest law firm in America. She worked with local lawyers to open Mitsui Yasuda in Tokyo in 1988 and and the Baker & McKenzie office in Taipei in 1977, gaining a deep, personal understanding of entrepreneurship and of Chinese and Japanese business cultures. She has also practiced in Singapore and on Wall Street and negotiated transactions in virtually every country in the Pacific Rim. Accustomed to juggling the legal, accounting and regulatory regimes of several countries, she consistently considers -- and creates -- a variety of approaches to achieving business goals. This inspired flexibility and awareness of the various dimensions of any deal benefits her clients as they build a platform for global success.

The Garrett Law Firm provides pro bono services for low income minority entrepreneurs. Ms. Garrett has been recognized for her volunteer work by AFS, the nation's oldest student exchange program.
